Job Description:

As the Government Relations Adviser, you will provide timely, effective, and professional support to the Minister, the Minister’s office, and wider government through the provision of high-quality written documentation and research. You will contribute to the management of organisational risks and uphold business integrity standards to ensure that all outputs and correspondence aligns with the agency’s values, regulatory requirements and government direction.

Job Responsibility:

  • Preparing researched and high-quality Ministerial and Parliamentary briefs, correspondence and Cabinet materials
  • Analysing and interpreting detailed information to develop briefings and advice for use both internally and externally
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships within the business, the Minister’s Office, and other government stakeholders
  • Providing advice and support on Ministerial, Cabinet, and Parliamentary protocols and directives throughout the corporation
  • Maintaining the integrity of the Corporate Compliance Framework by adhering to all organisational and legal obligations

Requirements:

  • A demonstrated ability to produce complex governmental documents with limited direction
  • A strong working knowledge of the processes of Government, Cabinet, and the Parliament
  • A record of achievement working under pressure to meet multiple deadlines with limited direction
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interpret and explain policy and procedures
