Job Description

The Government Insuring Specialist will audit and insure FHA & VA loans. An ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, will work with a team, and regularly interact with internal departments to ensure file completeness. The Government Insuring specialist will be organized, detail oriented, and understand government lending and requirements.

Job Responsibility

  • Work with a team responsible for auditing and insuring every funded government loan
  • Ensures each loan satisfies FHA and VA requirements
  • Prepare the insuring package to align with the specific agency requirements
  • Ensures the pipelines is worked within insuring timelines
  • Responsible for payments and refunds to VA and FHA
  • Escalate deficiencies or Post Endorsement requests and ensure they are addressed timely
  • Manages timelines for Escrow Holdbacks and EEM mortgages
  • Works with the Post Closing team to assist in overflow activities

Requirements

  • 2+ years of recent Government Insuring or Post Close experience
  • Experience with FHA Connection and VA WebLGY
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and follow-up skills
  • Ability to meet rigorous deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to work independently and support a team atmosphere
  • Proficiency with all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Professional demeanor and attire

  • Communicate on all aspects of incoming transfer funds on new and existing files for multiple product lines within multiple systems
  • Review, process, and follow-up with other carriers and agents on transfer paperwork for incoming funds on new and existing files, including identifying not in good order requirements
  • review correspondence that will satisfy those requirements
  • Independently conduct initial review of transfer paperwork and make judgment and decisions that fall within prescribed policies and limits, including government regulations, regarding transfer paperwork and correspondence
  • Handle correspondence and other documents within established company standards, including matching documents to appropriate accounts (i.e. electronic and paper files), verifying output for accuracy, and mailing and faxing paperwork to agents or other companies
  • Maintain appropriate detail in documentation of policy files in administrative systems regarding additional requirements, correspondence, and subsequent relevant activity as a result of communications by phone or in writing
  • Communicate in writing to agents on specific statuses of incoming transfer funds
  • Print, prepare, and mail transfer paperwork to other carriers, including any additional correspondence that may make the paperwork in good order for the transfer to be processed
  • Follow up via phone and email with other carriers regarding the status of the transfer of funds to our pending applications and in-force policies
  • Take necessary action with the information provided by that carrier within our systems
