Searching for someone to support Wesley Mission’s advocacy and service priorities through effective, coordinated engagement with government. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their government relations or public policy career to build experience in a complex, mission-driven organisation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supports Wesley Mission’s advocacy and service priorities through effective, coordinated engagement with government
  • Provides practical government relations support across the organisation, contributing to advocacy outcomes, service sustainability and system reform
  • Works closely with advocacy, policy, campaigns and service teams to ensure Wesley Mission’s engagement with government is well-informed, consistent and aligned to organisational priorities
  • Assists with preparing correspondence and briefings, monitoring policy and parliamentary developments, supporting meetings with government stakeholders, and maintaining records and systems that strengthen whole-of-organisation government engagement

Requirements:

  • An interest in government, public policy, advocacy or community services
  • Strong written communication skills, including drafting correspondence and briefings
  • An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, government and parliamentary processes
  • The ability to coordinate information, track activity and manage competing priorities
  • Confidence working collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders
  • Alignment with Wesley Mission’s Christian mission, values and commitment to social justice
