Governance Officer for a London Local Authority. Initial 3–6 Month Contract | Hybrid Working. This role will focus on governance arrangements relating to council-owned companies and the delivery of elections-related projects.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting the Head of Governance on projects relating to council companies, including governance structures and compliance
Assisting with elections-related work, including planning, governance processes and supporting statutory requirements
Advising on local authority governance, constitutional and decision-making processes
Preparing reports, briefing notes and governance documentation
Liaising with internal stakeholders, senior officers and external bodies as required
Supporting best practice and continuous improvement across governance functions
Requirements:
Proven experience working in a governance role within a local authority
Strong understanding of local government governance frameworks
Experience supporting or delivering elections-related work is highly desirable
Experience working with or advising on council companies is advantageous
Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills
