We’re on the hunt for a Governance Officer to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes! You’ll support boards and committees, maintain governance standards, and make a real impact on the communities we serve. As Governance Officer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring high standards of governance across the organisation. It’s a varied and rewarding role where your attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to build strong relationships will make a real difference.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support boards and committees
  • Maintain governance standards
  • Take ownership of board and committee meetings, preparing agendas and producing accurate minutes
  • Provide impartial advice on governance matters
  • Maintain statutory records
  • Support non-executive directors and trustees throughout their tenure - including recruitment, induction, development and appraisal planning
  • Deliver governance training
  • Promote a culture of compliance and best practice
  • Contribute to regulatory returns, policy administration, and external audits

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of minute-taking at senior levels
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence to engage at all levels
  • Strong literacy and IT skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for business purposes
  • Experience delivering governance training or supporting audits
  • Knowledge of governance frameworks and compliance requirements
