Job Description:

We are looking for a highly articulate, data-driven, and exceptionally organized individual to join our team as a Google Business Profile (GBP) Optimization Specialist. This role requires obsessive attention to detail, the ability to manage complex multi-location digital presences with precision, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of dedicated experience in local SEO and GBP management, with mandatory hands-on expertise in enterprise platforms like Soci and Yext, and deep proficiency in Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console. This Specialist will work closely with Account Managers and the Director of Digital Strategy to execute and report on local search campaigns that drive measurable results for our clients. A forward-thinking understanding of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and the role of AI in local search is a strong differentiator for this role.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive GBP optimization strategies for multi-location clients to enhance local search rankings and online visibility
  • Manage all aspects of client profiles — including NAP consistency, business descriptions, categories, services, attributes, photos, and videos — and conduct regular audits to ensure every listing is complete, accurate, and performing at its best
  • Manage and respond to customer reviews and Q&A content in a timely and professional manner to foster a strong online reputation
  • Utilize Soci and Yext to efficiently manage listings, reviews, and local content across large portfolios of profiles
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, providing regular reports on performance, insights, and strategic recommendations
  • Proactively identify and flag pacing or performance concerns for review with the broader strategy team
  • Develop and present case studies and performance reports that clearly demonstrate the value and ROI of GBP optimization efforts
  • Stay current with the latest trends and updates in local SEO, Google algorithm changes, and the evolving digital search landscape
  • Develop a strong working understanding of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and how to position local content for visibility in AI-driven search results such as Google’s AI Overviews
  • Contribute to the agency’s thought leadership and internal best practices in this space

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of dedicated experience in local SEO and Google Business Profile management
  • Verifiable, hands-on experience with both Soci and Yext is mandatory
  • Deep proficiency in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Search Console is required
  • A college degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, or a related field is preferred
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and accurately
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable, evidence-based recommendations
  • A proactive, team-oriented attitude and a genuine passion for mastering the details of local search
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA and located in one of the following states: TN, GA, AL, FL, NC, SC, NV, NH, TX, MN, VA, IL

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience with Marqii (hospitality-focused listings and menu management platform) is a significant bonus
  • A forward-thinking understanding of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and the role of AI in local search is a strong differentiator
What we offer:
  • Flexibility to work from home with optional hybrid work environment for locals in our beautifully renovated downtown office (with paid parking)
  • 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employee AND two family members
  • 401k with company match
  • PTO, sick days, and paid holidays
