Job Title: Google Apigee - Technical Architect. Location: Seattle, WA. FTE Only.

Job Responsibility:

  • Define and implement API management strategy leveraging Google Apigee (Edge/Hybrid/X)
  • Architect API proxies, policies, and security frameworks including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and SAML
  • Lead API lifecycle management: design, governance, deployment, versioning, and retirement
  • Develop and enforce API governance models, best practices, and reusable frameworks
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders to design API-first integration strategies
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of API platforms across hybrid/multi-cloud environments
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to development teams in API design, microservices integration, and CI/CD practices
  • Evaluate new technologies, industry trends, and recommend improvements to API platforms
  • Troubleshoot performance issues, optimize APIs, and ensure robust monitoring using tools like Apigee Analytics, Stackdriver, or equivalent
  • Work with security teams to ensure compliance with enterprise security policies and regulatory standards

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of IT experience
  • At least 5+ years in API management and integration architecture
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Google Apigee (Edge, Hybrid, or X) platform setup, design, and administration
  • Deep understanding of API design principles (REST, SOAP, Graph QL), microservices, and event-driven architecture
  • Expertise in security standards – OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, TLS, API Keys, threat protection
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure is a plus)
  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Excellent stakeholder management, and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving, risk management, and decision-making abilities
