Delegates daily work tasks to Good Neighbor Ambassadors (GNA) under the supervision of the Good Neighbor Ambassador Supervisor. Oversees transportation to and from work sites and troubleshoots worksite issues. Provides various benefit services to the local community and identifies additional community engagement opportunities. Works on a variety of projects throughout the community to improve neighborhood vitality. Serves as liaison between the Sewer District and various community organizations, business organizations and the public. Participates in various initiatives including but not limited to general educational opportunities, professional development opportunities, relationship building opportunities and community outreach. Serves as a point of contact when needed. Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.
Job Responsibility:
Delegates daily work tasks to Good Neighbor Ambassadors (GNA) under the supervision of the Good Neighbor Ambassador Supervisor
Oversees transportation to and from work sites and troubleshoots worksite issues
Provides various benefit services to the local community and identifies additional community engagement opportunities
Works on a variety of projects throughout the community to improve neighborhood vitality
Serves as liaison between the Sewer District and various community organizations, business organizations and the public
Participates in various initiatives including but not limited to general educational opportunities, professional development opportunities, relationship building opportunities and community outreach
Serves as a point of contact when needed
Assists with delegating and completing daily work tasks throughout the community to provide various benefit services including but not limited to assisting senior citizens, shoveling snow from sidewalks, weeding and mowing grass on public property, neighborhood cleanup and delivery of fliers to residents
Provides support and assistance to specific and relevant community activities such as community fairs, school fairs, community meetings and other community efforts
Allocates equipment such as workspaces, transportation and tools and stores properly after use
Tracks time to complete assignments and maintains attendance logs
Ensures field site pictures are taken before and after work is conducted and are uploaded to the Geographic Information System (GIS) system
Oversees transportation to and from work sites and drives Good Neighbor Ambassadors (GNAs) to various work sites
Provides a high level of visibility to neighborhood stakeholders by maintaining a positive and valuable physical presence in the community
Establishes and maintains positive and proactive relationships with community stakeholders, including residents
Carries out a wide variety of tasks that improve long-term perceptions of the community by working on special community-based projects
Advances community efforts through work with the Hunger Center to distribute food from the food bank to various centers or people
Provides general assistance on watershed projects in the community by helping install cisterns, bi-retention basins, community gardens, rain gardens and other related features
Supports leadership by carrying out administrative and operational tasks such as maintenance training calendar coordination, inventory and tool management, worksite rotation logistics, Nexgen orders, asset tracking and uniform ordering and distribution
Completes all required developmental activities for Good Neighbor Ambassadors
Provides additional departmental support during periods when other GNAs are in development activities
Requirements:
Candidate must possess a high school diploma, GED or state recognized equivalent
Candidate must possess one (1) year of progressively responsible work experience in general maintenance
Must be able to use a variety of small hand and power tools
Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving record in accordance with the Sewer District’s acceptable guidelines
Candidate must possess effective written and verbal communication, organizational skills and decision-making abilities
Candidate must be detail oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintain detailed comprehensive records, analyze and organize information, have effective project and time management skills and be well organized
Candidate must possess the ability to effectively plan, coordinate, establish and maintain effective working relationships and prioritize workloads based on available resources
Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Nice to have:
One (1) year of experience in a team/crew leadership capacity is preferred
