Job Description:

The Global Transportation Manager is responsible for the delivery of a global transportation program to support Meta employees. This program is designed to facilitate appropriate transportation support for all Meta hybrid and office based workers globally. The role involves oversight of all day to day activities of Meta’s transportation network and operations including employee shuttles, intra campus trams, on-demand car service, carpools and vanpools, parking and valet. This role also facilitates Transit Benefits and linkage to HR policies. Additionally the Global Transportation Manager will be responsible for managing the transportation benefit globally which includes balancing tax obligations, parking management and local market needs. The position will support an effort to run an efficient and optimized transportation program while remaining compliant with all Transportation Demand Management (TDM) programs and ensuring that we operate within country, state and local governmental agency requirements. This role also focuses on facilitating continuous improvement in safety, expense management, and efficiency within a customer centric program.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage a transportation team and programs for all Meta’s locations including Meta Headquarters. Programs currently include shuttle bus network, vanpools, carpool, and rideshare coordination, guaranteed ride home administration, parking management, electric vehicle charging system, bike-to-work programs and infrastructure, international cab services, and public transit incentives and transportation benefits
  • Develop and implement organizational strategies that support growth, efficiency, and innovation in transportation services
  • Define the strategic direction for Meta’s Transportation Team, ensuring alignment with company priorities and long-term goals
  • Monitor day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless transportation services across all Meta sites
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for major incidents, escalations, and sensitive issues, ensuring timely and effective response
  • Develop strategic risk based vendor management approach ensuring that transportation solutions are effectively outsourced
  • Innovate new or calibrate existing approaches for increasing participation in alternative transportation programs and aggressively reducing single occupancy vehicles
  • Interface with external stakeholders (e.g., agencies, local governments, employers, transportation management associations, etc.) on transportation strategy, regulatory compliance and policy development. Monitor trends, identify opportunities and challenge areas, and drive improvements in commute efficiency and utilization
  • Develop and implement transportation policies, procedures, and programs
  • Develop transportation program data & metrics that support decision making, including routes, timetables, benefit utilization and drive participation
  • Develop and manage budgets and program expense management
  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with Legal, Security, Finance, Facilities, Tax, and other key partners
  • Mentor and support team members, fostering professional growth and a collaborative environment
  • Connect team members with the right people and resources to resolve issues and drive results

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in transportation & logistics, real estate, facility operations, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience managing a team
  • Experience in the transportation industry including knowledge about new technologies, solutions, and opportunities
  • Experience working with external agencies, vendors, or service providers
  • Experience owning transportation benefit programs and using data to drive business decisions

Nice to have:

  • Advanced degree and 12+ years of experience in transportation & logistics, real estate, facility operations, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team
  • Knowledge of tax implications related to transportation programs
  • Experience working on global transportation programs and developing relationships with global partners both internally and externally
