In this vital role, you will act as Global Transportation Manager for a defined region (EMEA), with end-to-end accountability for supplier performance, cost optimization and GDP-compliant transportation solutions. You will play a key role in shaping efficient, compliant and data-driven distribution models, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners
Job Responsibility:
Lead and manage Third-Party Transportation Service Providers (TSPs), with strong ownership of delivery performance, service quality and continuous process improvement
Develop, implement and sustain cost-effective, best-in-class and GDP-compliant transportation solutions, regionally and through Global Distribution Hubs
Drive cost improvement initiatives, analyzing freight spend and performance data and negotiating with suppliers while sustaining long-term partnerships
Apply a data-driven approach to transportation management, leveraging KPIs, performance dashboards and ideally TMS insights to deliver measurable improvements
Contribute to or lead regional and global transportation projects, including the compliant implementation of new transportation solutions
Ensure strong application of GDP processes, including involvement in change controls, deviation management and CAPAs (preferred)
Oversee lane validation, temperature monitoring and cold chain risk mitigation activities
Support audits and inspections and stay up to date with industry trends and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
Experience in transportation or logistics, with proven supplier management responsibility
Strong knowledge of transportation, supply chain and cold chain operations
Demonstrated experience improving supplier delivery performance, operational processes and service levels
Proven ability to analyze cost drivers, freight spend and performance data, translating insights into improvement actions
Strong project management skills across regions and functions
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
Nice to have:
Solid GDP / GMP knowledge, ideally within a regulated or pharmaceutical environment
Experience implementing new transportation solutions in a compliant environment
Hands-on experience with Change Controls, Deviation Management and CAPAs
Experience using TMS, SAP, BW or similar systems
Strong negotiation skills, able to balance cost optimization with long-term supplier partnerships
Continuous improvement mindset (Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA is a plus)
