The Global Trade Specialist supports the day-to-day execution of regional trade activities and helps ensure compliance with import and export regulations. This role is foundational to the success of the global trade function, providing essential operational support, maintaining accurate documentation, and assisting with classification and shipment coordination. By collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners, the Specialist helps maintain smooth and compliant trade flows. This position is crucial in ensuring the timely and accurate movement of goods across borders, thereby reducing delays and supporting the company’s commitment to regulatory integrity and operational excellence.
Job Responsibility:
Execute routine import and export transactions in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements
Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin
Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery and customs clearance
Help monitor regulatory changes and update internal documentation accordingly
Support basic compliance checks and identify potential issues for review
Assist in assigning Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN)codes to products under guidance from senior team members
Maintain classification records and support updates to product databases
Collaborate with product teams to gather necessary technical data for classification
Contribute ideas to improve trade workflows and reduce manual tasks
Assist in testing new systems or tools related to trade operations
Help maintain trackers and reports to monitor operational performance
Communicate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal departments to resolve shipment issues
Ensure accurate and complete documentation for all trade transactions
Maintain organized records for audits and compliance reviews
Support document retrieval and reporting for internal and external stakeholders
Perform duties consistent with the company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies
Performs other duties as required/assigned by the manager
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in supply chain management or a related field of business
1-2+ years of related experience in Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain industry
College internship (preferred in Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain industry)
