Job Description

The function of the Senior Global Technology Integration Coordinator is to drive technology Integration activities for the Industrial Segment. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the introduction of existing and new products from around the globe and inject them into new advanced manufacturing processes. Beyond the precise execution of these transfers, there is an additional responsibility to align global technical and operations processes to reduce cost and complexity and to optimize our manufacturing footprint. Projects include global technology transfers, process improvement, and complexity reduction. Establishing a routine cadence of communication with the extended organization relationships with decision makers at various levels of the organization and understanding the short and long-term vision for the enterprise, this individual will work to transform the global Manufacturing footprint through the following types of projects: Regional Technology Transfers – Utilizing the defined technology transfer process and small agile work teams, the individual will drive regional movement of technology (products) to ensure full utilization and optimization of PPG’s manufacturing footprint. Global Technology Transfers – Working with cross discipline teams from around the globe, and utilizing the established technology transfer process, the Global Technology Integration Coordinator will drive the introduction of new technologies to defined regions. These technologies may originate in research, requiring manufacturing process development for never before commercialized products, or may be existing technology that is being localized to the region. Through the evolution of these projects the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the capital investment processes, through data collection and business case development for the Industrial Segment. Process Improvements and Complexity Reduction - Acting with a full understanding of the technology, the process, and future engineering innovations, this individual will be responsible for aligning technical and engineering work teams to ensure formulations and processes produce the highest level of quality and consistency, at the optimum cost structure. In this role, the Senior Global Technology Integration Coordinator will be expected to manage several projects over multiple regions and with many different work teams. They will be required to develop effective project plans, utilize standard project management methodologies to execute their projects, and conclude their projects on time in full to the defined deliverables. Each project will be driven aggressively to ensure that the organization can realize the value of the project in the most expedient manner. Precise execution in the expected timeframe, adherence to process, and ensuring the commitments to customers and peers are met is a core tenant of this position. This position assists in transforming the business by preparing the organization for change, ensuring successful manufacturing of existing and new products, promotes the development of new advance manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or engineering plus three (3) or more years of direct experience in coatings
  • Previous experience working across regions and managing project teams will be critical
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in product attributes and customer requirements
  • Possession of strong scientific knowledge, sound technical judgment and trained in the use of statistical tools like Six Sigma Greenbelt or the ability to obtain this training within six months after being hired
  • Demonstrated above average job performance and a proven track record of success in coatings related projects
  • Demonstrated capability in design of experiment (DoE) methodology, project management, data analysis, and basic financial and business case analysis are desired
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and presentation skills are required
  • Candidates must be fluent in English
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time is expected
