An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Pepsi Lipton R&D team. Pepsi Lipton is a joint venture between Unilever and PepsiCo to capitalise on growth of the ready-to-drink TEA segment. It operates globally with three well-established brands: Lipton, Brisk and Pure Leaf. We have one manufacturing site based in Ireland (LSDI) in which we produce our secret concentrate recipes (our kits) which are then shipped all over the world to be transformed into delicious beverages by our bottling partners. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Global Technical Coordinator to join our team. This role is crucial in managing and coordinating all activities related to our kits’ Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and GHS labels (UN Global Harmonised System for safety labels). The Global Technical Coordinator will work closely with third-party expert providers to ensure regulatory compliance and efficient management of kits SDS and GHS labels. This role is based within the R&D team and will work in very close collaboration with the global Supply Chain team and the manufacturing site team. They will participate in innovation and renovation projects to ensure SDS and GHS labels are delivered on time, in full for all projects globally, hence supporting the growth of the joint venture.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee the creation and management of approximately 150 GHS labels and 700+ SDS documents in multiple languages through 3rd party expert providers
Maintain SDS and GHS label portfolio libraries for the joint venture both for raw materials and kits in close collaboration with the manufacturing site team and other users of the information
Collaborate with 3rd party to resolve labelling and SDS conflicts in different regulated markets and advise regional SC teams on most harmonised labelling process possible
Lead decision maker on Pepsi Lipton JV hazard classification programme for substances and mixtures using various classification schemes set out by the UN, including GHS and Transport of Dangerous Goods
Lead Pepsi Lipton JV SDS authoring programme for all global beverage innovation and maintaining annual turnover in PGCS
Instruct 3rd Party providers of SDS and GHS label content to ensure delivery on time and in full of these documents for innovation, renovation, and roll-out projects
GHS label artwork (AW) process management: raise artwork workflows according to project timeline, and ensures all inputs and artwork checks are completed by each tasks owners within agreed timings
Kit registration process owner: Maintain JV account with ECHA (European Chemical Agency) and with European PCN (Poison Center Notification)
Manage 3rd Party to create all UFI (Unique Formula Identifiers), local registration and Poison Center Notifications within Europe ahead of any market launch
Support Pepsi Lipton JV obligations under chemical hazard communication regulations based on UN Global Harmonised System (GHS) on labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) globally
Receive and act on regulatory horizon scanning reports to anticipate regulatory changes from 3rd party providers
Lead the implementation of regulatory and legislative changes to SDS and GHS labels
Manage spend and budget for third-party services, including building bottom-up forecasting for SDS, GSH labels, poison center notification and country registration, monthly tracking, and purchase order raising
Lead on supplier annual reviews and actively supports supplier selection and contract negotiation
Ensure confidentiality compliance for third-party providers with access to confidential formulation information
Actively participate to incident management related to mis-labelling or wrong SDS and/or GHS labels, implementing corrective actions on GHS labels and SDS with 3rd party expertise
Owner of the SDS and GHS label process within the Joint Venture
Regularly updates the processes, including decision making criteria for SDS /GSH label approach across markets, and creates training content for internal JV project teams and external partners
Provide information and direction to Senior Management on potential risks to the business
Lead execution of global strategies/policies/plans to ensure regulatory compliance
Deal swiftly with regulatory queries related to chemical hazard communication from global manufacturing and distribution locations via the 3rd parties’ expertise
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a science field (Chemistry, Chemical/Environmental/Materials Science, Toxicology, Industrial Hygiene, Food Science) or in Health and Safety field or equivalent experience in a regulated product goods
Experience working in an industrial setting relating to regulatory affairs or chemical hazard communication
Demonstrated ability to communicate regulatory priorities effectively
Purchase order and budget tracking management experience
Experience of working on cross functional project teams
Working in multi-cultural environment
Previous experience of working in R&D or Supply chain or technical function
Proven ability to manage a large document portfolio
Proven experience of managing 3rd party, including relationship building and keeping accountability of delivery
Experience of management of conflicting priorities in high pace delivery environment
Strong analytical rigour and attention to detail

Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English (written and spoken)
