Job Description:

Senior Vice President - Senior Lead Counsel position within Markets Legal, specifically supporting Spread Products - Sales and Trading based in London. Provides expert legal guidance and thought leadership to the business, ensuring the firm's adherence to all relevant laws and regulations.

Job Responsibility:

Provide expert legal guidance and thought leadership to the business
Provide critical legal support, advice, and guidance
Ensure firm's adherence to all relevant laws and regulations
Participate in strategic initiatives
Provide subject matter expertise on laws, rules, regulations, and industry practices
Advise business management on legal matters
Evaluate Business proposals using institutional knowledge and risk appetite
Collaborate across internal lines of business and control/support functions
Participate in business planning and development initiatives
Proactively identify, evaluate, and manage legal, regulatory, and reputational risk
Manage day-to-day legal activities
Monitor management of complex legal issues and transactions

Requirements:

Relevant industry experience in financial services
Demonstrable experience in derivatives and/or structured credit
Banking or financial industry experience including laws related to banking regulations
Knowledge of international laws, regulations and practices
Experience with complex deals and ability to develop legal solutions
Effective communication and negotiation skills
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and relationship management skills
Proven ability to apply sound judgement in fast-paced environment
Bar license in good standing to practice law
