Job Description:

We are looking for a Chemical Regulatory Science professional with deep understanding and knowledge of EEA REACH and similar Global REACH schemes. You will join the product stewardship department of a speciality chemical business as their Global REACH Subject Matter Expert. Ideally with a strong scientific pedigree, you will have deep REACH expertise and be able to lead, advise, plan and develop strategy for the compliance of fascinating and highly complex chemical substances on a global scale. This is a dynamic, changing and challenging field requiring an appetite for continuous learning, a curiosity and the ability to build deep understanding of regulations and their application to highly complex substances and products.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support EMEA and global product stewardship programmes
  • Representation in Industry Consortia and Trade Associations
  • Responsibility for compliance with EEA REACH and similar emerging global regulations
  • Management and coordination of technical experts who conduct practical regulatory work (preparation, submission and maintenance of registration dossiers)
  • Management of OR compliance
  • Analysis of impacts of regulatory changes
  • Develop strategy for implementing new regulations (e.g., Ukraine REACH, Israel REACH)
  • Managing non-routine complex customer regulatory enquiries

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in Product Stewardship with a chemical manufacturing business
  • Deep expertise in EEA REACH and similar global schemes (e.g., K-REACH, Turkey KKDIK, China REACH, UK REACH)
  • Higher degree qualified in chemistry, biology, material or particle science or similar
  • Strong scientific understanding
  • Experience with ECHA/EU Commission
  • Experience working with industry associations, consortia and technical committees
  • Ability to work with different departments including sales, marketing, R&D
