The primary function of this position is to support Quality Assurance activities related to product and process quality and continuous improvement across Victaulic manufacturing sites. In this capacity, the incumbent is responsible for identifying best practices and facilitating continuous improvement in operations where we are producing common components and assemblies to achieve consistent, best in class quality results. The work scope includes on-site auditing, leading improvement workshops, assisting with conducting capability studies, generating control plans and assessing results, and ensuring Victaulic production facilities continue to meet quality standards and expectations.
Job Responsibility:
Support all elements of Victaulic manufacturing quality systems including new process qualifications, process re-evaluation, non-conforming material containment, root cause analysis and other corrective and preventive initiatives
Assist facility QA teams in understanding and implementing Victaulic specifications
Collaborate to identify best practices and implement standard work aimed at improving quality results
Provide support for existing product lines and Victaulic manufacturing facilities including Engineering Change Control, process improvements, and product improvements
Improve Internal Quality processes and offer Quality Management support to other departments to improve internal processes and to maintain ISO 9001:2015 certification
Function as core team member (quality representative) for new product development initiatives
Lead process qualifications and validation activities including Gage R&R’s, Control Plans, and work instructions
Manage the development and maintenance of internal technical specifications and testing methods
Initiate product / process reviews related to warranty claims/customer complaints
Perform trend analysis and establish ongoing manufacturing / quality metrics
Conduct routine reviews through random audits of the related manufacturing processes and products
Requirements:
Engineering Degree or equivalent experience required
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a global Manufacturing, Quality, or Engineering organization
Familiarity with statistical concepts and their application (control charts, process capability etc.)
Proficient in problem solving
Proficient in the use of electronic systems and software (MS Office and MiniTab)
Excellent communication skills
Working knowledge of measuring equipment
Able to make independent decisions without supervisory assistance
Able to travel globally as required
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Nice to have:
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt a plus
Knowledge in advanced statistical methods a plus
Experience with SolidWorks a plus
Knowledge of Victaulic product line desired
Current or prior ASQ CQE and/or CSSBB certification desired
