As a Global Procurement Assistant manager for Fine Chemicals, you will support the sourcing of a portfolio of B&W-led Fine Chemicals to manage a portfolio of approximately €40m for the business across various Non-food Functional ingredients (Vitamins, Organic Acids, Amino Acids, Glycols, Esters etc). This position reports to Sr. Manager Global Procurement, B&W Chemicals.
Job Responsibility:
Support in building global sourcing strategy for all Non-food functional ingredients, clearly identifying the market trends in immediate and related chemicals markets
Drive alignment on the sourcing strategies, and support for successful execution from all key stakeholders across ranks in Business Groups, Business Units, R&D, Supply Chain and Procurement teams
Identify risks to the business and prepare resilience plans to overcome them
Identify newer opportunities through transformational sourcing models for the business in accordance with the Lighthouse Strategy of Procurement: e.g. Joint buying, upstream buying, buy to sell, value chain intervention etc
Develop short/mid-term negotiation strategies
Follow dynamically changing market conditions, understand direct and indirect factors influencing supply, demand and prices and develop a view of future markets trends for the business
Deep understanding of material value chains to unbundle and optimize delivered costs through lean principles, DTV, logistics optimization projects and de-dollarization initiatives
Full contracting cycle for the materials: from creation and administration of Tenders to the negotiation and closure of contract
Create/ collaborate and approve sourcing contracts in the Contract Lifecycle Management system on time in full
Use Smart Buying tools for extracting greater value: eTender, cost-plus/ market-minus pricing mechanisms, nego-factory, etc
Compliance of materials with Unilever specifications, through approvals granted by R&D teams
Continuously scans the market to benchmark Unilever’s performance vs. competition
Support in driving the core procurement agenda on competitive buying, savings, innovation, quality, service, and sustainability
Nurture and manage supplier relationships to ensure Unilever gets top priority in service, quality, cash, and cost of materials
Measure and manage overall performance of suppliers while leading several strategic relationships
Manage all contracting discussions with the suppliers, including RFQ, negotiations, compliances, etc
Execute legal contracts with suppliers in the form of Unilever Purchase Agreement and Commercial Terms Contract (and where required, also Special Terms Contracts)
Manage the Compliance of suppliers and sources on Unilever Supplier Qualification System (Aravo): Responsible Sourcing Policy compliance and Quality Assessment compliance
Engage and lead the discussions with PTW, and JBDP suppliers to identify opportunities on value generation, sustainability, and resilience
Lead strategic projects in the portfolio, through cross functional teams including BG/BU, R&D, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, Procurement, etc
Closely liaise with S&I, Finance, Legal, R&D teams to achieve common goals & KPIs
Lead few key strategic initiatives on behalf of the overall team.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in commerce or engineering, with a strong supply chain/ procurement experience. MBA is an advantage
Minimum 2 years’ experience in supply chain or procurement
Very Strong Analytical, Interpretation and Communication skills: data/information analysis and presentation
Ability to read markets and convey findings along with recommendations, to the business
Comfort with systems: SAP CLM, USQS, SRS, HANA, Ariba, etc.
Knowledge and experience of forecasting, planning processes, market operations, supply chains
Basic understanding of chemicals and Consumer goods industry.
