Working as Full-time Global Logistics Coordinator, you will be a key player in executing Fastenal's global logistics program through management of inbound shipments into North America. This includes supporting container tracking activities with our origination teams, scheduling timely deliveries of air and ocean shipments, working with the Trade Compliance team to ensure seamless entry of inbound cargo, and tracking key metrics to help ensure the overall program is successful. You will help to coordinate outbound international shipments when needed, including arranging shipment quotations and supporting other Fastenal Business Units with movement of their goods. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.
Job Responsibility:
Facilitating the timely and cost effective delivery of international shipments to any location within North America
Working with our overseas Logistics teams to troubleshoot issues and resolve specific disruptions with shipments
Tracking critical metrics and providing consistent reporting to key stakeholders across the company for both completed and future shipments
Coordinating communication, strategy, and day to day efforts between the steamship lines, trucking companies and distribution center teams for both inbound and outbound international shipments
Supporting the Accounts Payable team with accurate payment of billing and auditing of logistics costs, as well as correct routing of charges to the appropriate internal business units
Supporting the Trade Compliance team with container visibility for accurate and timely custom clearance efforts and support in routing containers through ports and rail yards
Requirements:
Prior administrative/customer service experience OR industry experience and product knowledge
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
