Job Description

Amgen is seeking a Global Lead of HR Systems and Solutions – reporting to executive director, global talent management in the Human Resources function. This leader will have responsibility to define a clear technology roadmap that meets organizational objectives and to deliver key HR systems capabilities. Additionally, this leader will engage frequently with HR and DTI (technology) executive management and partner closely with business stakeholders as the domain expert. This role will lead a team of system specialists in the planning, development, management, deployment and support of systems such as Workday across HCM, Security,Compensation, Talent Acquisition (ATS), Performance management, Time tracking, Absence management, Payroll, HR Data Analytics and reporting, and for ServiceNow HRSD case management and portal, EDM and other HR supporting systems within the Amgen eco-system.

Job Responsibility

  • Set the vision and define a clear roadmap to meet HR and other Amgen organizational objectives in alignment with Amen IS City Planning
  • Build and manage a team of HR systems specialists and HR Data managers that are flexible and evolve as our agile plans do
  • Provide timely updates to Senior management and teams on all initiatives in progress
  • Vendor Management with third-party application management service, HCM and other technology solutions
  • Research industry trends to support goals and objectives within enterprise-wide applications
  • Lead organization to adopt to industry leading solutions in the HR Technology and People Services space by managing the exploration, evaluation, recommendation, design, and configuration of new features and functionalities
  • Oversee staff managers in the HR Systems & Solutions organization to execute the day-to-day activities including Agile sprint methodology, resource allocation, project prioritization
  • Monitor and manage budget
  • Plan and oversee change management aspects for technology adoption
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to present to mid-level management and Steering Committee members
  • Accountable for the team staff members to lead the design, build, and support testing of Workday modules and other HR systems as appropriate
  • Manage complex business problems and partner across teams to define solutions to problems for integrating Workday with external applications across the Amgen eco-system
  • Lead instance strategy and automated testing strategy and end-end integration delivery process including the CUT and UAT testing
  • Plan and manage regression testing related to the Workday and other solutions for the planned release
  • Responsible for overall performance and deployment of system enhancements and reporting on time
  • Serve on HR Technology Council meetings with Senior leadership stakeholders
  • Maintain team metrics dashboard for organizational health reporting out to Senior Leadership
  • Serve as POC for Amgen supplier relationship management (SRM) program with highly valued vendors
  • Oversee Workday changes to ensure a full impact analysis including reporting, integrations, security and core module reviews are completed before being released to PRD

Requirements

  • Experience in planning and implementing ERP solutions at a global scale (Minimum 20,000 users across multiple countries or regions) for a public company
  • Ten (10) years of strong Information Technology (IT) experience
  • 7+ years of managing Workday ERP or similar platforms
  • M.B.A, information systems or finance background is highly desired
  • Experience with Workday and ServiceNow HRSD systems is preferred
  • Strong leadership, project management, full system lifecycle experience, with a hands-on approach
  • Ability to exercise judgments, problem solve, and make decisions consistent with Amgen philosophy, goals, and objectives
  • Possesses ability to communicate both verbally and in writing clearly and concisely, which include effective presentation and meeting techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to deal with constant changes and act as a change agent
