Job Description:

The role will cover a range of activities relative to the strategic direction and positioning of the organisation and its leadership.

Job Responsibility:

  • Help drive awareness of Movember’s key policy positions
  • Build bespoke strategic communication plans for identified projects – e.g. key pieces of research
  • Drafting impact communication materials
  • Partner with the Impact Campaigns team to deliver on the communication requirements for global impact campaigns
  • Lead on building a global communications plan that sees us proactively communicatie Movember’s programs
  • Champion the use of our organisational position statements throughout the year
  • Build and deliver bespoke thought-leadership communication plans for ELT and key SMEs in market, working with agencies/freelancer as necessary
  • Build and deliver press releases working with the Global Director of Research and team on upcoming research outputs/reports for media penetration re impact
  • Lead on building out strategic communication approaches
  • Identify, engage, and manage high-profile ambassadors that support research, advocacy, and program objectives
  • Oversee media training for all global spokespeople
  • Responsible for building and overseeing the execution of the Global crisis communication plan

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex and sensitive health issues into clear, accessible communications
  • Strong writing skills with experience producing high quality content for diverse audiences
  • Experience working in the not for profit or social impact sector, with an understanding of mission driven communication and stakeholder expectations
  • Experience in healthcare, health research, public health, or related policy environments
  • Proven capability to communicate confidently on complex social issues such as gun violence, domestic violence, and abortion rights
  • 8+ years’ experience working on marketing and communications campaigns
  • Experience of budget management processes including setting budgets and day to day budget management
  • Successfully demonstrated the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver campaign/activity
  • Entrepreneurial with the ability to spot opportunities and act quickly to assess the business alignment and ROI

Nice to have:

Background in journalism combined with communications experience in the health and not for profit sectors, with the ability to report, translate and frame complex issues for varied audiences
