Job Description:

As the Global Immigration Specialist, you will be a member of the Legal/Compliance organization focused on ensuring operational excellence with the highest level of compliance related to U.S. and global immigration. In this role, you will support Arrow Electronics, Inc., its subsidiaries, and affiliates with various immigration needs. You will primarily liaise with external and internal counsel, HR, recruiting, and hiring managers. You will also answer employee questions about policies and processes related to immigration. Detailed attention, professionalism, and expert care will be exercised to ensure a smooth experience for all.

Job Responsibility:

  • Serve as the initial resource for existing and future employees by responding to policy and immigration questions, advising internal stakeholders on immigration requirements, reviewing issues and employee concerns, and escalating legal issues when necessary
  • Work with counsel to ensure full compliance with immigration laws
  • Partner cross-functionally in collection of documents for various U.S. and non-U.S. visa/permit/permanent residency needs
  • Monitor visa expiration dates for all foreign nationals and manage cases to ensure timely filing
  • Perform data entry, upload documents, and maintain immigration-related content on internal employee portals
  • Maintain various immigration files (Public Access Files, PERM, etc.)
  • Apply expertise to educate business stakeholders, managers, and HR about immigration
  • Maintain knowledge of changes to immigration policies/regulations and communicate to stakeholders timely
  • Review and track immigration vendor invoices and payments
  • Prepare verification documentation for employee travel as needed
  • Participate in other projects as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, International Relations, or related field
  • 5+ years of related professional experience
  • 1-2 years of experience working with U.S. immigration processes (ie: L-1, H-1B, TN, permanent residency, etc.)
  • Strong proficiency in Workday, MS Office suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook, Visio, Sharepoint
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy while working with highly confidential information
  • Strong prioritization skills and solid sense of accountability
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across disciplines and with various levels of the organization
  • Experience handling sensitive matters with tact and diplomacy
  • Passion for fostering a productive and positive employee experience
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English

Nice to have:

  • Preferred knowledge of immigration case management systems and U.S./global immigration policies
