Job Description:

International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) provides a premium proposition through Premier Banking and Private Bank services globally. HSBC Private Banking offers wealth and succession planning, investment opportunities, tailored solutions, and philanthropic support to high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients. The Global Head of Trust Advisory will lead a team under TFS to manage fiduciary responsibilities, regulatory changes, and strategic product development.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide support to TFS teams in all jurisdictions concerning matters of fiduciary responsibility, risk and technical trust
  • product ownership, and regulatory, tax and company law issues
  • lead a team of c.10 professionals in trust, wealth and succession planning, and philanthropy solutions
  • define policies and pricing regarding TFS services
  • manage day-to-day operations of all products and represent Trust & Fiduciary Services in IWPB governance processes
  • liaise with group functions such as Compliance, Tax, and Legal
  • engage with Wealth Planning & Advisory to align client propositions with changing market conditions
  • act as an advisor for complex structuring for UHNW clients
  • work with company secretaries and external counsel on management of BVI entities
  • design policies and procedures for trust and related activities globally
  • manage and update documentation pertaining to services
  • participate in governance and committee meetings
  • represent HSBC Trustee-related entities as a senior spokesperson

Requirements:

  • Qualified trust professional with senior management experience in private trust business
  • experience in private banking business would be a clear advantage
  • expert knowledge of fiduciary duties, trust laws, estate and succession planning, and investment management principles as well as common risks and issues affecting trust companies
  • strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute a long-term vision for effective trust governance, oversight and product development
  • strong understanding of the regulatory and compliance landscape governing trust and fiduciary services and ability to translate information to actionable plan for the Trustee
  • outstanding customer focus with a keen desire to provide internal advice and where necessary work with external advisors on ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients and their families on complex, sensitive matters
  • superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain intricate concepts clearly and confidently to colleagues, clients and internal stakeholders
  • a proven leader confident in managing and developing teams and participating and representing the role in senior business forums
