Develops the product portfolio strategy in accordance with approved company guidelines
Responsible for analyzing customer needs and desires, specifying the research necessary to obtain market information
Contributes to decisions regarding new product development and follows the equipment innovation roadmap
Reviews periodic reports on product performance by monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as turnover and market share
Interacts closely with the Sales department to obtain the necessary information
Analyses market, customer and competitor data and research findings to understand market issues and opportunities
Responsible for identifying and creating potential market segments
Supports the development of pricing strategies for product portfolios and performs competitive analysis on product pricing
Provides new product ideas under his/her own responsibility by analysing customer product requirements
Assesses the competitive situation in the market by comparing vaBW products with those of competitors through benchmarking, trend analysis, etc.
Responsible for collecting, analysing, prioritising and documenting product requirements
Defines usage scenarios and users to provide the R&D department with context and relevant product information
Supports the development of the appropriate product portfolio for vaBW and discusses the necessary requirements with the R&D department
Manages the overall development of the product portfolio under his/her responsibility
Actively reviews milestones with stakeholders and resolves portfolio-related issues and questions
Manages the entire product line lifecycle, from strategic planning to tactical activities for the product portfolio under their responsibility
Responsible for coordinating internal and external product testing and product launches in line with regional sales
Is actively involved in communication and training responsibilities
Responds to sales enquiries and resolves product and process issues
Responsible for creating product-related content for communication
Responsible for creating product promotion plans and campaigns through marketing communications and evaluating the effectiveness of monitoring
Responsible for the product launch process and supporting product marketing campaigns and plans. Provides training through the Welding Academy to the sales department during the product launch process
Actively supports the development of sales support material
Responsible for representing the product portfolio externally at conferences, trade fairs, industry seminars, etc.
Requirements
Technical diploma with specialization in welding and/or degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, marketing/product management or related fields
Certification as a Product & Project Manager is preferred
Preferably, an IWS International Welding Specialist qualification or DVS Welding Expert qualification
At least 10-15 years' experience gained in companies operating preferably in the welding sector
