The Global Design Guidelines & Engagement Lead is a pivotal leadership role responsible for developing, maintaining, and evolving Meta’s global design guidelines. This position ensures consistency, quality, and compliance across all workplace, culinary, and design innovation projects, aligning design standards with the company’s brand and strategic objectives. By acting as a central steward of workplace design and collaborating with cross-functional partners, the Lead drives the adoption of best-in-class practices throughout Meta’s global portfolio, ensuring that Meta’s physical environments consistently reflect company values, support operational priorities, and set new benchmarks for quality and innovation.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the creation, documentation, and continual refinement of comprehensive design guidelines for all Meta projects
Ensure guidelines reflect industry trends, regulatory requirements, and company values—efficiency, sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation
Ownership of the space programming template and the end-to-end programming process - documentation, governance, and continuous improvements
Liaise with cross functional partners to align standards with business objectives and site operational models and for the seamless integration of design requirements
Facilitate reviews and workshops to gather input, address challenges, and ensure guidelines are practical and actionable
Manage implementation of design guidelines, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance with health, safety, accessibility, and regulatory standards
Partner with Design Execution lead, project managers, architects, and consultants to monitor adherence and resolve deviations
Contribute to cataloging regional and global design partners including Architects, and Subject Matter Expert Consultants that supports design value, quality and compliance
Integrate new features, technologies, and methodologies into guidelines in collaboration with Design Innovation and Execution teams
Analyze operational data including occupancy and utilization metrics, employee feedback, and industry benchmarks to drive improvement and future-proof standards
Drive guideline design performance criteria that allows for accommodating, modular, and scalable solutions at the region, market and team programming levels
Validate design guideline content platform for performance and cost and lead effort to integrate of AI tooling and platform enhancements
Collaborate with Global Design Strategy Lead, Research and industry leaders in visioning sessions to inform Meta’s overall design direction and promote accommodating workstyles
Integrate culinary spaces into workplace design, enhancing employee experience and operational success
Maintain clear, accessible documentation of guidelines, updates, and rationale
Act as primary communicator and advocate for design standards, providing training and support to stakeholders
Consult with Design Execution lead on design vendor selection, evaluation, and onboarding to ensure alignment with Meta’s standards
Oversee Meta’s relationship with Design Guidelines technology platform vendor to ensure product performance and cost efficiencies
Identify key architectural product manufacturers that meet Meta’s sustainability, costing and performance criteria and participate in product pricing negotiations
Lead Cross Functional collaboration to build and manage As-Built and Project Close-out governance and standards
Oversee vendors contracted to manage day-to-day as-built and Building Information Modeling programs
Travel, as required, to support global initiatives
Requirements:
8+ years of experience in design-related roles, with a focus on guideline development, quality assurance, or project management
Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex, multi-site projects in a deadline-focused, global environment
Experience in regulatory compliance, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement
Proven organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
High level of computer literacy and proficiency in key design and documentation tools (Revit, AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
Proven analytical skills to evaluate data, feedback, and industry trends for continuous improvement
College degree or equivalent practical experience in Design Management, Architecture, Project Management, or related field

Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
