Job Description

This role is a senior level position in the Custody business reporting to Core Product Head/Global Custody and will be responsible for managing overall core product offering. The role will entail setting and execution of strategy, budgetary management, global oversight of Custody Product Program, Product enhancements and Pricing management etc. This role will also involve close partnership with other products in Investor Services i.e. Fund Administration, FX & Agency Securities lending to provide seamless integration of Global Custody offering with these partner businesses. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the development of product plans, strategies, and tactics while coordinating product lines through product life cycles in coordination with the broader Product Management team. The candidate will be responsible for driving key product priorities including product strategy, financials, innovation, controls & governance and talent. The individual works closely with partners across the globe including Coverage teams, country Investor Services heads, Operations and Technology to jointly achieve key goals of the business.

Job Responsibility

  • Own and execute the go-forward vision and strategy for Global Custody (both traditional and new asset classes) working closely with key global stakeholders
  • Establish an optimized Global Custody Operating Model across various hubs, partnering with various stakeholders including operations and technology to deliver a globally consistent service delivery and best-in-class cutoffs across markets
  • Manage strategic program roadmap, development, launch, and marketing to gain maximum benefit from each product
  • Lead innovation (including in the space of Digital Assets and leveraging cutting edge technology like AI) by working with external partners/alliances to develop products, manage ongoing relationships, exercise control over resources, policy formation, and planning, and prepare agreements
  • Drive Commercialization to deliver financial results and build shareholder value
  • Supervise day-to-day product management for core products in Global Custody such as product delivery, client experience, and client communication strategies as well as help the team prioritize, negotiate, and remove obstacles to achieve business results
  • Drive client value propositions, positioning, segmentation, pricing, targeting, channel strategies, and competitive differentiation to achieve status as a partner to Citi clients
  • Manage client and competitor market research, develop product innovation roadmap, and address fundamental trials of product commoditization to create advanced set of solutions
  • Direct and oversee aspects of program life cycle management including market demands, technology trends, and the competitive field
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets

Requirements

  • Experience of working in a Global Custody role within a regulated Financial Services company, ideally in Investor Services domain
  • Some expertise in Credit Risk and liquidity usage would be helpful but not essential
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, with a balanced risk management mindset, across Product, Operations, Technology and Client partner groups
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work closely with stakeholders in the business
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills without direct management oversight to deliver business results
  • Exposure to Artificial Intelligence models and demonstrated ability of adapt to newer technologies and leveraging them to improve productivity and quality of output
  • Self-starter, with an intellectual curiosity for how Financial Services works
  • Excellent communicator, written and verbal, with the gravitas to manage regulators, clients, boards as well as senior Citi management
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, coming to terms with and bringing order to an at times fragmented technological, organizational and operational landscape
