The Global Commodity Manager is responsible for managing commodities/categories worldwide, including strategy development, supplier contracting, and quality assurance. The role involves advanced supplier negotiations, risk mitigation, and managing supplier performance in alignment with company goals. The manager will play a crucial role in geo-diversification, supply chain optimization, and end-to-end supplier management.
Job Responsibility:
Leads a complex individual supply chain sub-category, including data and industry analysis
develops and utilizes supply chain, business, and financial modeling tools
leads supplier selection activities
negotiates and completes contracts with complex suppliers
partners with suppliers in minor strategic development
provides input on risk mitigation, business continuity, cost management and operation strategies
supports end-to-end sourcing and NPI materials escalation
ensures contract compliance with suppliers
identifies challenging contract risk areas
negotiates acceptable contracting outcomes using known solutions
advises senior level business leaders on contract risk areas.
Requirements:
First level university degree or equivalent experience
advanced university degree preferred
typically 6-10+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain function with strong thermal knowledge
experienced in drafting contract solutions in known contract risk areas to obtain acceptable outcomes with limited supervision
strategic sourcing skills
ability to develop and execute global sourcing strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders
commercial and contract negotiation expertise
ability to execute geo-diversification and dual-sourcing strategies
new product introduction (NPI) enablement
end-to-end supply chain and supplier management
leadership and influence capabilities
data-driven decision-making skills
excellent analytical skills
excellent business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint)
strong project management skills
excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities
mastery in English and local language.
