Job Description

You will establish and implement strategies for negotiating commodity supply agreements based on in-depth knowledge of foreign and domestic markets for optimum pricing and terms. You will manage and lead efforts on cost savings initiatives in line with a profit plan and overall business objectives. You will report to the Director, Strategic Sourcing – Indirect.

Job Responsibility

  • Establish and implement strategies for negotiating commodity supply agreements based on in-depth knowledge of foreign and domestic markets for optimum pricing and terms
  • Manage and lead efforts on cost savings initiatives in line with a profit plan and overall business objectives
  • Lead negotiations for the assigned portfolio of capex categories
  • Utilize cost models to validate commodity strategies and to understand significant cost drivers
  • Acquire and maintain understanding of technology trends, market forces, cost trends, and supplier technology road maps
  • Manage performance metrics for assigned portfolio to ensure best total cost, as well as mitigate price increases
  • Act as project manager (develop, manage, and implement) for cross functional teams to build stakeholder alignment (Technical, R&D, Sales & Marketing, Regional and local teams, etc.) to meet objectives
  • Contract management - ensure specific requirements are present, appropriate review, and signing authority is realized
  • Identify and develop a robust supply base to provide materials and services with competitive cost and quality for all locations and support for geographic expansion
  • Establish global partnerships and partner with business leaders to develop and drive global initiatives
  • Drive alignment across leadership teams by embedding a structured, data-driven approach to strategy execution, ensuring decisions consistently support the business plan and measurable outcomes
  • Manage Capital Commodity Managers to achieve necessary output and goals
  • Travel: up to 50%

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive global change agent experience in commodity management/supply chain management, operations, and/or engineering
  • Strong Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications and MRP/Supply Chain systems
  • Excellent analytical and project management capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication across regions, functions, and levels
  • Excellent negotiating capability
  • Collaboration and influence management skills with proven ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is required: Equipment, Plant Services, Construction, Utilities
  • Minimum of BS Degree
  • MBA preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills
  • CPSM (ISM) or CPSP (APICS) certification preferred

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
