Job Description:

A prestigious global life insurer is looking for a Global Capital Management Actuary – Senior Manager to join their Capital Management & Reporting team. This high-impact role is integral to the company’s capital strategy and will provide exposure to senior leadership and enterprise-wide stakeholders. The successful candidate will be involved in shaping the way the business plans, forecasts, and deploys capital across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring robust and well-governed capital frameworks are in place to support strategic growth objectives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Capital Forecasting & Planning: Lead the development and consolidation of the multi-year capital plan for the division. Oversee solvency forecasts, stress testing, and scenario testing (including CISSA)
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Regular interaction with senior stakeholders, including the Chief Actuary, EXCO, and global teams across multiple regions. Engage in high-level discussions and provide critical insights for strategic decision-making
  • Capital Management & Reporting: Monitor capital drivers across both internal Economic Capital (EC) frameworks and international regulatory frameworks. Provide actionable insights and ensure consistent alignment with the company’s strategic objectives
  • Team Development & Leadership: Lead a high-performing team, providing mentorship, oversight, and technical guidance. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting: Produce business-critical reports, including projections of capital impacts from transactions, strategy changes, and emerging risks

Requirements:

  • Capital Management Expertise: A background in global life insurer capital management, with experience in solvency forecasting and risk management
  • Leadership: Proven experience in managing and mentoring a team, including delegating effectively and ensuring team growth
  • Stakeholder Engagement: A track record of working with senior leadership and influencing decision-making at the executive level
  • Technical and Strategic: Strong technical knowledge combined with the ability to translate complex data into clear, strategic insights

  • Work with the modernisation programme to utilise new Workday technology to enhance the current global planning capability, ensuring we create efficiency and globalisation across new processes
  • Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of group planning and forecasting deliverables, analytics, and scenarios (technical and non-technical) to all relevant committees and boards. This includes consideration of the new platforms structures and ownership of planning consolidations
  • Work with the IFRS 17 programme team to bring IFRS 17 planning and analytics into production and report in line with an agreed corporate timetable
  • Ensure clear and concise articulation to Executive Management of key drivers pertaining to key outputs
