As the Global Business Insights & Automation Lead, you will combine the analytical depth of a data scientist with the strategic storytelling and executive communication of a management consultant. You will lead a small, high-impact team to design, automate, and operationalize global business insight systems that power OpenAI’s decision-making at scale. You’ll work closely with Finance leadership, GTM, Product, and Engineering to surface the “why behind the numbers,” automate recurring analytics, and develop frameworks that connect business drivers to company strategy. This is a hands-on leadership role — equally focused on building analytical frameworks, mentoring talent, and shaping executive narratives.
Job Responsibility:
Become an expert in OpenAI’s data, systems, and business dynamics across products and regions
Lead the design and implementation of global KPI frameworks and insight automation systems that serve cross functional partners
Architect scalable data products — dashboards, variance analyzers, pacing models, and agentic workflows — to deliver proactive insights
Automate recurring reporting and analysis using OpenAI’s internal tools, surfacing real-time business trends and performance drivers
Partner with FP&A to connect financial performance with operational and product metrics, improving forecasting accuracy and investment decisions
Build models and frameworks for segmentation, pricing, and LTV to uncover growth opportunities and efficiency levers
Translate complex analyses into clear, concise executive narratives — distilling technical detail into actionable insights
Coach and develop a small, high-performing team of analytics engineer and data scientists, ensuring analytical rigor and stakeholder trust
Requirements:
10+ years of experience in analytics, business insights, or data science
Experience at McKinsey, Bain, or BCG combined with hands-on work in a high-growth technology company

Comfortable in SQL and Python
Comfortable building analytical models and automated pipelines
Deep experience with BI tools such as Tableau
Have built scalable dashboards and metric layers used by executives
Strong understanding of financial and operational metrics (e.g., revenue, margin, LTV, CAC, WAU/DAU, ARPU)
Excel at executive storytelling
Thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
