Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented GL Staff Accountant to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. This is a long-term contract position ideal for an experienced accounting expert with a strong grasp of general ledger systems and financial processes. The role requires excellent organizational skills, analytical abilities, and a proactive approach to managing tasks in a dynamic environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
  • Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including month-end and year-end closings
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor monthly financial transactions
  • Generate corporate tax returns and handle sales tax reporting with precision
  • Analyze financial data and create detailed reports using advanced Excel formulas
  • Utilize accounting software such as Sage Intacct and QuickBooks Online for efficient financial management
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support grant management and financial reporting needs
  • Assist with payroll processing and fund accounting tasks
  • Perform occasional front desk support or reception duties as needed
  • Contribute to special projects and fiscal initiatives assigned by leadership

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, including fund accounting and payroll
  • Associate degree required
  • bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage Intacct and QuickBooks Online
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas and data analysis
  • Strong understanding of corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger systems
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of ethical standards and attention to detail
