Job Description:

As a GIS student intern with our Applied Technology team, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. You’ll get an introduction to Olsson's culture that will help you evaluate our firm as a career choice and be part of a team working with a variety of programs, including but not limited to Esri and Autodesk products.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support internal GIS users by compiling data from external sources
  • Assist with GIS processes
  • Work with technology experts

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a degree in GIS
  • One to two years of college coursework in GIS
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro
  • Experience with ArcGIS Online applications (Dashboards, Field Maps, Experience Builder, Survey123)
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 products
  • Familiarity with coordinate systems, map projections, standard cartographic methods, theories, and principles
  • Knowledge of coding languages
  • Preferred languages include Python (ArcPy) JavaScript (ArcGIS API for JavaScript), Arcade, and SQL
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to adhere to corporate policies to ensure data integrity and security
