Job Description:

Nationally recognized environmental remediation contractor (#3 in ENR in 2022) is looking for a GIS Specialist to support operations onsite in Deepwater, New Jersey. Travel will be required.

Job Responsibility:

  • Use of GPS hardware (GNSS Receivers, Base Stations, Rovers) and GIS software (QGIS and ArcGIS)
  • Tasks which include working with vector and raster data and data processing
  • Support field technicians with data collection

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Science or related field (Geology, Environmental Science, etc.)
  • GIS Software fluency (QGIS and ArcGIS) with field applications (QField, Field Maps, Survey123)
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, workflows, and processes/procedures
  • Ability to learn new software and GIS systems quickly
  • Basic understanding of Python coding within GIS software
  • GPS hardware equipment knowledge (Trimble and others)
  • File maintenance and organizational skills
