Job Description

The International School of Ticino is seeking a committed and enthusiastic German Teacher to join the Secondary School from August 2026. The successful candidate will teach German across the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and, where appropriate, the Diploma Programme (DP), delivering engaging, communicative and inquiry-based lessons. This role is well suited to a reflective and student-centred practitioner who is passionate about language learning within an international school environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Teach German across IB MYP and DP
  • Plan and deliver engaging, student-centred and inquiry-based lessons
  • Support students in developing speaking, listening, reading and writing skills
  • Prepare students for internal and external IB assessments
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities

Requirements

  • A degree in German or a related subject
  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching German at secondary level
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for language learning
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • A collaborative and student-centred approach
  • EU passport (essential requirement)
  • Experience teaching IB MYP and/or DP
  • Experience in an international or multilingual school setting
  • Ability to teach German across a range of proficiency levels
