Job Description:
You will assist The Transtec Group pavement engineering team on project management, pavement design, evaluation, testing tasks, and other related pavement engineering work. As a Project Engineer, you will lead a team of engineers on assigned projects, managing all phases from planning to execution. You will provide hands-on technical guidance, mentor junior staff, and ensure the successful delivery of project objectives. Your focus will be on project-level leadership, collaborating with senior managers and other teams as needed. You will report directly to senior project managers and collaborate with other teams as needed. You will direct daily activities and mentor junior engineers within your project team. This may include performing and/or leading field investigations, developing design recommendations, pavement design analysis and recommendations, design and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and the writing, preparation, and review of related reports for the services provided. Review drawings and construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Prepare proposals and cost estimates, track and evaluate project progress and budgets, and recommend changes. Research and resolve design and construction problems. Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports. Apply sound engineering principles and be able to communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams. Services may be provided for existing or proposed projects in the transportation, public works, commercial, communications, energy, and/or industrial sectors.
