Requirements

Master’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering with specialization in Geotechnical Engineering
Minimum 3 years relevant offshore geotechnical design working experience, either in oil and gas or offshore wind
Good knowledge of codes and standards within the field of Geotechnical Engineering
Strong analytical skills
Creative problem solving - able to suggest and develop new methods and ways of working
Understanding of clients’ needs and ability to suggest and apply “fit for purpose” solutions
Sound communication skills – able to communicate ideas and results to various stakeholders (both in written reports and in meetings, presentations etc.) particularly in English
The ability to work in a team as well as individually with a minimum of supervision

Job Responsibility

Complete geotechnical engineering aspects of tenders, studies, and projects
Interpret and use offshore site investigation data and be able to integrate results into parameters for detailed design of subsea infrastructure
Undertake detailed design and installation of gravity based, piled and suction installed foundations
Use of 2D and 3D finite element software (Plaxis and/or OptumCE)
Carry out soil/pipeline interaction analyses
Complete offshore trenching and rock dumping assessments
Possibility to attend offshore trenching or rock dumping as client representative

Requirements

Experience in geotechnical design of earthworks, slopes, retaining walls, underground structures, port structures, building structures, ideally in a variety of sectors. Experience in the Transportation sector would be a particular advantage
Experience in designing and delivering ground improvement methods in wide variety of environments
Experience in preparation and checking of well-presented design calculations, notes, reports, and general correspondence
