Job Description
Join CSIRO’s Mineral Resources team as a Geophysicist/Engineer within the Sustainable Mining Technologies Program, contributing to world‑class research that delivers innovative solutions across the global minerals value chain. In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support scientific and technological activities, assisting with planning, preparation, field deployment, data acquisition, and the practical implementation of research. Working across laboratory, field, and office environments, you will play a key role in delivering high‑impact outcomes through a blend of technical, operational, and analytical support. With a strong hands‑on focus, you will support the development and deployment of geophysical monitoring technologies and data acquisition systems used in mining and industrial settings. This includes preparing, testing, installing, and maintaining field instrumentation, supporting field trials, and ensuring high‑quality data collection and processing. Partnering closely with geophysicists, engineers, and developers, you will also contribute to data management, analysis, and workflow improvements. Your work will help advance technologies that improve mine safety, operational efficiency, resource recovery, and environmental performance across the resources sector.
