Job Responsibility:
Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Use formative assessment strategies such as questioning and exit tickets to raise achievement and track pupil progress
Act as a powerful force for social mobility by closing the educational gap through high-quality specialist teaching
Scaffold and differentiate resources in real-time to meet the diverse needs of SEND, EAL, and Pupil Premium students
Contribute to school life through pastoral support, interventions, and coordinating curriculum-related field trips
Requirements:
PGCE
QTS
SEN experience
Strong knowledge of physical and human geography, including specialized areas like Geomorphology
Proven ability to manage challenging behaviours using positive, proactive, and person-centered strategies
Ability to build strong rapport with pupils and colleagues to create a safe, supportive learning environment
Skills to cultivate the next generation of teaching talent and work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants
Ability to self-evaluate teaching quality through peer observations and student performance data
Nice to have:
A DBS on the update service would be a distinct advantage due to the urgent nature of some of these roles
