Job Responsibility:

  • Engaging Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality, inquiry-based lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to contribute to A-Level delivery
  • GCSE Success: Lead Year 11 cohorts through their exam specifications (AQA/Edexcel/OCR), focusing on physical landscapes, human challenges, and geographical applications
  • Fieldwork Leadership: Organise and lead local and national fieldwork opportunities, ensuring students can apply their classroom learning to real-world environments
  • GIS Integration: Utilise Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and modern digital mapping tools to bring 21st-century technology into the classroom
  • Inclusive Scaffolding: Differentiate complex global issues to ensure all learners-regardless of ability or background-can engage with the curriculum
  • Sustainability Advocacy: Play a key role in the school's "Green Initiatives," encouraging students to engage with sustainability and environmental protection

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory. A degree in Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Global Perspective: A deep passion for the subject and the ability to link classroom topics to current global events and challenges
  • Analytical Skills: The ability to teach students how to interpret data, evaluate sources, and form evidence-based arguments
  • Classroom Management: A positive and proactive approach to building rapport with students, creating a space where every voice is heard
  • Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one via Randstad)
