Job Description

A diverse and inclusive mixed secondary school in Richmond are looking for a qualified Geography teacher to join their school in September 2026. The school is seeking a hard-working, enthusiastic, and dedicated Geography Teacher with a passion for the subject and the ability to engage and inspire students. You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring that all students make excellent progress and develop a love for Geography. This role is suitable for both experienced teachers and ECTs, with full support and mentoring provided by the Head of Humanities and a strong subject team. You will join a friendly and collaborative department that strives to ensure all students enjoy learning and exceed expectations.

Job Responsibility

  • Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons aligned with the national curriculum
  • Assessing, tracking, and recording pupil progress to inform teaching and support individual learning needs
  • Creating a stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independent thinking
  • Preparing students for GCSE examinations and supporting them in achieving their academic potential
  • Contributing to curriculum development and departmental initiatives within Humanities
  • Participating in school events, trips, and enrichment activities that enhance students’ understanding of Geography and the wider world
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and parents to promote positive attitudes to learning and achievement
