Job Description:

Brierley Associates is seeking qualified candidates to support our structural, geotechnical, tunneling, trenchless, and construction engineering design. Candidates would be part of a team of world-class engineers solving challenging problems in designing and constructing public and private infrastructure across North America. Job Responsibility:

  • Serves as a project manager and as a designated client contact
  • Assists in marketing, client outreach and the preparation of design proposals and negotiation of engineering agreements, manages some client relationships
  • Directs and supervises other engineer’s technical work, budgets, and schedules and collaborates with staff in other Brierley offices via phone, email, and video meetings
  • Design of foundations, support-of-excavation, falsework, tunnels, underground structures and many other types of permanent and temporary structures
  • Evaluation and selection of geotechnical and loading design parameters
  • Development of concepts and preparation of sketches based on provided information and constraints
  • Analysis and design of steel, reinforced concrete, and wood structures using relevant building codes, prepare design calculations, reports and supervise creation of CAD/BIM drawings

Requirements:

  • BS (MS preferred) in Civil Engineering with a focus in structural or geotechnical engineering, and demonstrated design and construction experience
  • Candidates must be highly motivated and possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. The ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments/priorities and maintain schedule is essential
  • 5+ Years of experience
  • Licensed Professional Civil Engineer
  • Willingness to work in the field and travel, including to other Brierley offices and project locations for short-term assignments
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation

Nice to have:

Experience with CAD/BIM and Civil 3D a plus
