Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Generator Service Technician to support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of diesel generator systems across multiple project sites. This role plays a critical part in supporting national and cross-border power generation operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Install, configure, and commission diesel generators and associated equipment in line with design documentation
  • Ensure all installations and commissioning activities are completed within project schedules
  • Perform transformer commissioning and MV switchgear switching operations
  • Configure communication systems for LV/HV/EHV transformers, relays, and intelligent devices
  • Provide operational field support for planned and unplanned maintenance activities
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and servicing on time
  • Create job repair plans based on diagnostics, including labor-hour estimates
  • Offer technical support during the full operational lifecycle of power solutions
  • Support training and provide technical advice to internal teams and customers
  • Conduct field inspections on ongoing projects to assess progress and compliance
  • Complete formal handovers of commissioned power solutions to clients
  • Provide after-hours support as required by service management
  • Interpret and work from electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and wiring schematics
  • Ensure 100% adherence to relevant Health, Safety & Environmental procedures and legislation

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with diesel generators and site installations
  • Valid Electrical qualification
  • Must be insurable to drive a company vehicle
  • Strong understanding of generator instrumentation, controllers, SCADA, PLC panels, and communication protocols
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, instrumentation, and single-line diagrams
  • Computer literacy and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Willingness to travel nationally and cross-border as needed
  • Medically fit for field operations and HSE-compliant
