Job Description:

The Generator Field Service Technician is responsible for providing on-site and phone troubleshooting, repair, equipment modifications, installation, and sales support of Generac industrial products. This position will require up to 50% travel.

Job Responsibility:

Providing on-site and phone troubleshooting, repair, equipment modifications, installation, and sales support of Generac industrial products

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • 1 – 3 years related mechanical experience and completion of Electrical/Electronic or HVAC program (Trainee)
  • 2 – 3 years servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS) (Level I)
  • 4 years servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS) (Level II)
  • 6 years servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS) (Level III)
  • High School Diploma, Generac Master Certification or equivalent
  • 8 years in advanced troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS) (Master)
  • Working knowledge of mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, and connection diagrams
  • Understand components and operation of an electrical distribution system
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, the ability to make independent decisions, and work with minimal supervision
  • Experienced in Electronics, Electromechanical Technology
  • Knowledge of power generation
  • light tower, pumps, and heating products
  • Spark Ignited knowledge

Nice to have:

  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • 1 – 3 years related Industrial experience (Trainee)
  • 4 years servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS) (Level I)
  • 6 years servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS) (Level II)
  • 8 years servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS) (Level III)
  • 10 – 15 years in advance troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS) (Master)
