The Lead Generator Controls Field Service Engineer (FSE) will participate as a Regional Service Team member responsible for providing the best service for our customers across the USA. The Lead Generator Controls FSE will manage all resources and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property. These activities contribute to, maintain, repair, and refurbish sold or existing products. Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering. The Lead FSE is responsible for project specific operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. This role functions with some autonomy but is guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
Job Responsibility:
Support execution of retrofit projects including installation, power up, and commissioning of one or more of the following: Excitation control solutions (EX2100e, EX2100, EX2000 DFE), Static Starter control solutions (LS2100, LS2100e), HMI upgrades, and TIL implementation
Provide technical direction and guidance to craft labor in support of a power equipment outage
Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy
Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others
Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Power generation, generator controls, and or turbine controls)
This role requires advanced experience in Field Service and Technical Advising in the Power Generation Industry
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
Ability to travel for weeks at a time
50% travel as required
