This is a general support role covering Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, and we are looking for candidates with a strong background in behaviour management and experience working with children who have SEN. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a special school environment, catering specifically to primary-aged students. The role entails providing essential general support within the classroom setting. This is a full-time position, operating five days a week from 8:45 am to 3:15 pm.
Job Responsibility:
Providing Reading, Writing, and SPAG support across KS1 and KS2
Adjusting or breaking down activities to support participation and understanding
Developing supportive relationships with pupils that promote self-esteem and confidence
Developing knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, physical, emotional, and behavioural needs of pupils and responding to them effectively
Liaising with the Teacher and SENCO regarding the development and support needed at home and in school
Providing whole-class, small group, and 1:1 support
Monitoring and maintaining records of pupil progress
Assisting with general school duties, including setting up classrooms, preparing resources, and creating displays
Supervision of children during lunchtimes and during arrival/departure from school premises
Requirements:
TA Qualified (Minimum Level 2 required)
Possession of an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to acquire a new one)
Eligibility to work in the UK (please note that sponsorship is unavailable for this role)
Previous experience in educational settings, particularly schools
Provision of two recent professional references
Comfort managing challenging behaviour and the ability to engage/motivate children
