Are you a passionate, adaptable, and proactive Teaching Assistant looking for a secure, full-time role for the entire 2026/27 academic year? We are a leading education recruitment agency seeking a General Teaching Assistant on behalf of a wonderful primary school located right in the heart of Watford. This full-time position (5 days a week, Monday to Friday) starts this coming September and runs until July 2027, offering excellent stability and the chance to become an integral part of a fantastic school community. The school is vibrant, easily accessible by local public transport links, and renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and dedicated support staff team.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the Class Teacher with daily classroom preparation, resource management, and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Work with small groups or on a 1:1 basis to boost pupil engagement and progress in core subjects like Reading, Writing, and Maths
  • Promote inclusion by supporting children of all abilities, including those with mild SEND or English as an Additional Language (EAL)
  • Supervise outdoor play and lunchtime activities, ensuring student safety and encouraging positive social interaction
  • Be a positive role model, fostering the emotional and social well-being of the children

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children (school settings, tutoring, youth clubs, or coaching)
  • A patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic personality with a "can-do" attitude
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in English and Maths)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work seamlessly within a team
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for one through us)
