Job Description:

A hospital in Fontana, CA is looking for General Surgery Physician Assistants to provide additional coverage for increased patient load. Providers will focus on general surgery cases with possibility of some ortho, urology, GI and GYN cases.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct thorough preoperative evaluations, including patient history, physical examination, and review of diagnostic tests
  • Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing exposure, handling instruments, suturing, and controlling bleeding
  • Administer medications and fluids as directed by the surgeon and anesthesiologist
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate intervention in the event of surgical complications, such as hemorrhage, hypotension, or cardiac arrest
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and ancillary staff, to optimize patient care outcomes

Requirements:

  • Active California Physician Assistant License
  • Active BLS certification
  • Active DEA license
  • Board Certification required
  • COVID vaccine and one booster required
  • Open surgery, laparoscopy, and robotic experience required
