Job Responsibility
Deliver engaging and well-structured General Science lessons using pre-planned materials
Support pupil progress across Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and KS4
Maintain a positive, safe, and well-managed classroom environment
Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of abilities and learning needs
Follow school behaviour policies and safeguarding procedures at all times
Manage classroom routines confidently to ensure continuity of learning
Provide clear feedback and handover notes for permanent staff
Represent Step Teachers professionally while working as a General Science Teacher (ECT)
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status, suitable for Early Career Teachers
Strong subject knowledge across General Science
Confidence teaching Science to secondary-aged pupils
A flexible, reliable, and proactive approach to supply teaching
Good classroom and behaviour management skills
Willingness to work across different school environments
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
Enthusiasm for professional development as a General Science Teacher (ECT)
