Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within one of JRL Group's key divisions; Trent Precast Concrete Ltd. We are looking for powder coating operatives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare metal components for coating, including cleaning, masking, and pre-treatment processes
  • Apply powder coatings using manual and/or automatic spray equipment
  • Ensure all coatings meet Qualicoat standards, including film thickness, adhesion, and finish quality
  • Carry out routine quality checks and inspections before, during, and after coating
  • Maintain correct curing oven settings and monitor curing cycles
  • Manage colour changeovers efficiently to minimise downtime and waste
  • Identify and rectify defects such as orange peel, pinholing, contamination, or poor coverage
  • Work to production schedules and meet output targets
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with 5S and health & safety standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the powder coating process

Requirements:

  • Spraying Experience - eirther paint or powder
  • Ideally have knowledge of GEMA Powder Coating Systems – preferably experience on an automated line
  • Be aware of quality testing procedures – especially measuring and recording of powder thicknesses, gloss level, etc
  • Must be able to work to high quality standards – Ideally with experience of Qualicoat, or similar Industrial Standard
