Job Description:

We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking General Operative with a valid CSCS card and Slinger/Signaller ticket to join our team working at Shotton Paper Mill in Deeside. The successful candidate will support daily site operations, assist with material handling and lifting operations, and help maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment within an active industrial site. This role requires strong attention to safety, good communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assisting in maintaining a clean and organised site by disposing of waste and ensuring materials are properly stored
  • Assisting with the loading and unloading of construction materials and equipment as required
  • Operating basic hand tools and equipment safely and effectively under the guidance of experienced personnel
  • Providing general labouring support across the site as needed
  • Following all health and safety guidelines and site protocols, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment, ensuring they are stored properly when not in use
  • Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors, reporting any issues, hazards, or safety concerns promptly
  • Supporting the general upkeep of site facilities and office areas
  • Assisting with the maintenance and minor repairs of the welfare area
  • Locating, counting, grouping, and preparing A4 and laydown area materials for transport prior to installation on site, and identifying/reporting any missing materials in line with project requirements
  • Receiving deliveries at the A4 site area, photographing incoming materials and containers, and checking for any damage upon arrival
  • Supporting lifting operations in accordance with Slinger/Signaller responsibilities, ensuring safe slinging and signalling in line with lifting plans and site procedures

Requirements:

  • Valid CSCS Card (essential)
  • Valid Slinger/Signaller Certificate (essential)
  • Previous experience working on a construction or industrial site (preferred)
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices, particularly within an operational industrial environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and proactive approach to work
