Job Description:

General Manager position for Courtyard by Marriott Suzhou Mudu with responsibility for all aspects of property operation including guest and employee satisfaction, financial performance, sales and revenue generation. The role involves implementing service strategies, guiding professional development, building owner loyalty, and actively participating in the local community.

Job Responsibility:

  • Functions as primary strategic business leader of property with responsibility for all aspects of operation
  • Verifies implementation of service strategy and initiatives to meet or exceed guest expectations
  • Holds property leadership team accountable for strategy execution
  • Guides professional development of leadership team
  • Verifies sales engines are leveraged and initiates proactive sales activities
  • Builds owner loyalty through proactive communication and delivering business results
  • Actively involved in local community building relationships with officials, businesses, and customers
  • Develops business plans to maximize customer satisfaction and profitability
  • Works with Sales and Marketing to develop revenue generating strategies
  • Creates cohesive high-performance Executive Committee
  • Reviews business data to address market conditions and achieve profit goals
  • Verifies fair treatment of employees and builds rapport
  • Works with Revenue Management to develop effective pricing strategies

Requirements:

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 8 years' experience in management operations, sales and marketing, finance and accounting, or related professional area
  • OR 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 6 years' experience in management operations, sales and marketing, finance and accounting, or related professional area
  • General Manager experience in limited or full-service property
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and late nights
  • Property industry work experience demonstrating progressive career growth and pattern of exceptional performance
